Record field vies in Wack Wack President's Cup

MANILA, Philippines - The main batch of entries for the ninth edition of the President’s Cup tournament of the Wack Wack Golf and Country Club will be taking a crack at more than P10 million worth of prizes in the two-day event starting today at the club’s west course.

The event, honoring the club’s president Luis Tan, was extended for another day by the Sports and Games Committee headed by Tommy Tan due to record field of participants.

A Jaguar XF OR Land Rover Freelander will be staked for hole-in-one feat on Hole No. 3. Other prizes for golfers making an ace are a 2009 Honda City 1.5 E A/T (No.8), 2009 Toyota Corolla Altis 1.6 A/T (No.11), Mitsubishi Lancer EX (No. 14) and Citizen Ecodrive Calendier Watch (No. 14). TCM Corporation, Philippine Fire & Marine Insurance Corp., and Citizen Ecodrive Watches are also hole-in one sponsors.

A GT185 Bowrider Speedboat, a Yamaha cart and three other special prizes are up for grabs for a natural eagle on designated holes.

Participants will also have the chance to win 14 grand raffle prizes, 45 major items and 140 minor ones.

Tournament sponsors are Watercraft Venture Corporation and Yamaha Golf Car (Kart Plaza); premier sponsors are The Address at Wack Wack / Madrigal Bayot Development Corp., Sharp (Phils.) Corp., Pacific Links Golf Development, Inc., 3D New Generation, Unilever Philippines, 7107 Islands Cruise, Shangri-La’s Boracay Resort & Spa, Philippine Airlines, Outback Steakhouse and The Plaza Premium Baked Ham.
