Clear Men Future League launched

MANILA, Philippines – From among their ranks may come another Chris Tiu, or who knows, maybe the next Benjie Paras.

In search of the next big stars in Philippine Basketball, Clear Men shampoo is launching the first Clear Men Future League, a unique cage reality program that showcases a budding player’s aspiration to reach superstardom.

The show will be a 13-episode, 1 hour weekly series aired over C/S9 and Basketball TV.

The initial episode will be aired on July 12 shortly after the PBA games.

Fittingly, the novelty program will be hosted by Tiu and Paras, two of the most successful players in the country.

Blessed with a boyish look and charismatic appeal, Tiu has been the player every young kid looks to for a perfect model, having been a major piece in Ateneo’s successful title drive in last year’s UAAP men’s basketball championship and among the key stalwarts with the Smart Gilas RP Team eyeing a berth in the 2012 London Olympics.

Paras, meanwhile, needs no further introduction, being the first player in the history of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) to win the Most Valuable Player (MVP) and Rookie of the Year plums in the same season (1989).

A two-time PBA MVP, the man dubbed “Tower of Power” was voted among the 25 greatest players in the 34-year history of Asia’s first ever play-for-pay league.

Adding a feminine touch to the show presented by Clear Men, C/S9 and Basketball TV is the presence of lady co-host Sharon Yu, the lovely former UAAP courtside reporter from De La Salle.

Already 10 teams of six players each from around the country have qualified for the tournament following a series of gruelling provincial meets.

All 10 teams will be competing in a series of challenges aimed to test their skills, teamwork and character.
