MANILA, Philippines - Philippine Olympic Committee president Jose Cojuangco Jr. and Philippine Sports Commission chair Harry Angping have smoked the peace pipe and agreed to work hand in hand for the development of RP sports.
Cojuangco yesterday said he finally sat down with Angping last Monday and they agreed to come up with their respective positions on the conditions and contents of the memorandum of agreement or understanding.
But Cojuangco said they must be sincere in implementing the MOA or MOU to make the proposed truce between the country’s two sports leaders lasting.
“It means nothing if the frame of mind is not to agree. Without that, it would not work,” said the equestrian chief.
The POC executive council headed by Cojuangco along with International Olympic Committee representative Frank Elizalde earlier led a POC panel in seeking the ouster of Angping as PSC chief.
But Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita said the Palace is throwing its full support to Angping.
“I will continue to try my best and find a working arrangement with the government,” said Cojuangco. ” – Joey Villar
