Two wins give CSA share of lead in Shakey's volley

Colegio San Agustin won twice over the weekend to share the lead with idle School of Saint James in Bracket B of the Shakey’s Girls Volleyball League at the Arellano gym.

Igrid Salas, Den-den Lazaro and Natasha Faustino combined for 24 points, leading the CSA tossers past a tough Imus Institute squad, 27-25, 25-23.

CSA completed a big weekend by beating St. Scholastica’s Academy of Marikina, 25-10, 25-16, and raising its record to 3-0 in this event backed by Petron Treats, Toby’s Sports, Dunkin’ Donuts and Mikasa.

San Antonio de Padua overwhelmed Canossa Academy of Lipa, 25-14, 25-12, for its second straight victory in Bracket C and a tie for the lead with University of Santo Tomas.

Rialen Saute finished with eight kills, combining with Guzelle Sy and Shiela Cecilio for 25 points as the SADP spikers stayed undefeated like the UST girls.

In other Division A matches, San Beda Alabang broke into the win column after two straight defeats by downing Canossa Academy Lipa, 25-10, 25-14, and De La Salle Zobel overwhelmed Tiwalan Crhsitian Academy, 25-23, 25-20.

Assumption College outlasted Southville Int’l School, 23-25, 25-19, 25-23, Rizal High School beat St. Joseph’s College, 25-22, 25-17 and PAREF Rosehill routed St. Anthony School, 25-7, 25-11 in the Developmental division.
