Hapee, BK eye No. 2; Ever makes debut

Hapee and Burger King shoot for their second win in three games as they square off with winless Toyota and Pharex, respectively, today even as Ever Bilena opens its campaign in the women’s side of the PBL PG Flex Linoleum Cup at the Ynares Sports Center in Pasig City.

Hapee and Toyota Otis clash at 4 p.m. with the Complete Protectors, bannered by Fil-Am Joshua Vanlandingham, out to score a follow up to their 91-76 rout of the Burger King Stunners last Saturday.

Vanlandingham sizzled for 14 points with the Fil-Am cager expected to come out strong again against the Toyota side.

The Stunners, meanwhile, try to bounce back from that setback as they play the Generix at 2 p.m.

Ever Bilena, owned by former league chairman Dioceldo Sy, battles Chito Narvasa’s Muscle Tape-Lyceum in the lone WPBL contest at 6 p.m.

Meantime, the Discovery Suites-RP Women’s team notched its second win by repulsing Sunkist-La Salle, 71-54, over the weekend.

After a two-point debut in the team’s 84-88 defeat to Bacchus last Nov. 11, Vanlandingham, a product of Pacific Lutheran College – an NCAA Division II school – exploded against the Burger Stunners, draining four triples, including three straight late in the second quarter.
