Ronald Pontillas makes a return appearance in the boxing show In This Corner as his recent eight-round fight with Richard Laano will be shown tonight, 7-8 p.m., over NBN-4.
The super-bantamweight encounter, presented by Ginebra San Miguel, San Miguel Beer, Purefoods, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) and Biogenic Isopropyl Alcohol, was part of the “Showdown sa Biñan” boxing card put up by Congressman Dan Fernandez, Mayor LenLen Alonte-Naguiat and the Biñan municipal government.
It was held at the Biñan town plaza in Biñan, Laguna as an undercard in the RP super-featherweight championship bout between reigning titlist Aron Melgarejo and challenger Judefiel Aclo.
Ranked no. 2 super-bantamweight contender by the LUZPROBA, Pontillas is fighting out of the Wildcard boxing gym in Paranaque while Laano represents the Olivetti boxing stable in Binan, Laguna and is currently at no. 15 in the Philippine bantamweight division.
