Oakley holds invt’l golf at Eagle Ridge

Oakley, the leader in sports vision technology, is staging the inaugural Oakley Cup, an invitational golf tournament April 30 at the Aoki course of the Eagle Ridge Golf and Country Club in General Trias, Cavite.

The one-day event will gather around 100 participants who will be treated to a fun-filled day at the Sta. Lucia Realty course.

The system 36 scoring will be applied in the tournament, which also gives participants the chance to try some of Oakley’s specific golf lenses and sports frames suited for golfers.

“Golfers are continually at risk to sun damage. Sunblock is already in widespread use, but most golfers are reluctant to wear protective eyewear. Refraction and the resulting distortions of the image seen through the lenses is enough to cause errors,” April Herce, sales and marketing manager of Oakley, said.

Through this tournament, Herce said, Oakley wants to spread the word that you can have eye protection and sports performance in a single pair of sunglasses.

“Oakley’s High Definition Optics allows light to pass almost undistorted for accurate vision. The new Hydrophobic Coatings resist the oily build up on the lens to allow balanced light transmission for depth perception and color recognition improvement which will relieve eye strain and enhance visual acuity,” she said.

Entry fee is pegged at P2,500, including green fee, tournament fee, breakfast and lunch.
