Bulls eye 5th win in row versus Asi, Tigers

Streaking Red Bull tries to close in on pacesetting Purefoods as it takes on the Asi Taulava-led Coca-Cola side today, looking for its fifth straight win in the Smart-PBA Philippine Cup at the Araneta Coliseum.

The Bulls, enjoying top form, are on a four-game roll, capped by a 108-95 trouncing of the Air21 Express last Friday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City to improve to 7-3 (win-loss) card, 1 1/2 games behind Purefoods’ 9-2 mark.

But the raging Bulls will be in for a tough ride against Taulava and the Tigers at the 4:15 p.m. encounter.

Alaska Milk, meanwhile, also seeks to stretch its own streak to four as it clashes with unpredictable Sta. Lucia at 7:20 p.m.

The Aces have picked three wins in row including an 87-82 win over the Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings in an out-of-town sortie in Lucena City to share third place with the Magnolia Beverage Masters on 7-4 records.

The bull strong Taulava, who was traded by Talk N’ Text in exchange for Ali Peek and a 2008 draft pick, has been dishing out dominating efforts.

In his first game as a Tiger, the Fil-Tongan churned out 33 points and 17 rebounds in a 106-117 loss to Alaska Wednesday before unleashing a 26-point, 24-carom and five-assist effort in a 94-79 trampling of Sta. Lucia also in Lucena.
