Pastor brothers stamp mark in China Asian Formula 3

-
Enzo Pastor made it to the podium in the Beijing leg of the Asian Formula 3 series with a second place finish in Race 6 after a hard-fought fifth place in the previous race at the Goldenport Circuit in Beijing last week.

The 2002 Formula Renault champion and Formula One candidate now driving for Fujitsu Ten Team Tom’s Petron started fifth in Race 6 until he found himself behind Richard Joson going into the final lap of the race. A brave lunge at the final hairpin saw Enzo go past Joson to claim third behind Mark Goddard and John O’Hara.

However, race winner O’Hara was disqualified by race stewards for causing a collision with Christian Jones at the start of the race . Goddard became the winner and Enzo second.

Enzo, sponsored by the Department of Tourism, Petron, Bench, Boysen McGills and Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, started fourth on the grid in Race 5 after surprising the field during Saturday practice by being the quickest Filipino in the regional Formula 3 competition which comprised 16 drivers from all over Asia, Europe and the US.

The strong performance established him as the most potent Filipino threat to the foreign drivers competing in the race.

Enzo’s younger brother, Don, also scored a breakthrough in the AF3 Promotions Class by coming in first in the category in both races of the Beijing leg of the AF3 series. This earned him the maximum 40 points available during the leg to climb up to a strong place in the driver’s points standings in the promotions class.
