SMC All-Star aperitif to PBA road games

The touring San Miguel All Stars basketball team entered its second year in 2004 primed up to spread more goodwill and cheers to basketball fans across the country with the squad of distinguished former PBA players showing their wares in the curtain-raisers of the league’s various provincial sorties.

The All Stars, launched last year as a marketing tool in support of San Miguel Corporation’s (SMC) growth strategy, has already served as the aperitif in the PBA’s game in Dumaguete City last March 18, and in Cebu City on March 26. Subsequently, the touring team will share stellar billing with the pro league’s visits in Tacloban City today, in Zamboanga City on April 16, in Puerto Princesa, Palawan on April 23, in Davao City in April 30 and in Lucena City on May 6, according to the All Stars team manager Manny Liwag.

Behind the All Stars’ various tours are the resources of some of SMC’s major brands, such as Magnolia poultry and dairy products, Purefoods, Purefoods-Hormel, Monterey’s meat products, San Miguel Pale Pilsen, Cali, Ginebra San Miguel, Vino Kulafu, B-Meg, Philippine Beverage Partners Inc. products which include Magnolia fruit juices, FunChum, and Viva, as well as San Miguel’s flour products.
