Jao, Lazaro overrun rivals in motorcycle GP

Multi-titled riders Jolet Jao and Jade Lazaro of Kawasaki Racing Team stamped their dominance in the Motorcycle Grand Prix at the Subic International Raceway with masterful wins.

Jao, a former motocross champion who is now into super bikes, emerged overall champion in the 125 Underbone Grand Prix using his Kawasaki Aura Nexus 112.

He recorded the fastest lap time of 1.03 in his race, which has a lap length of 1.5 kilometers.

"This is the product of years of hard work and dedication to one’s craft," said Jao, who is also set to crown himself champion in the Batangas Racing Circuit.

"Of course, credit also goes to my bike, which has an SOHC engine that delivers high performance in the upper speed ranges and plenty of responsive low-and mid-range torque for ease of operation," Jao added.

On the other hand, Lazaro, also riding a Kawasaki Aura Nexus, ruled the 110 Super Stock events while pulling off the fastest lap time of 1.07. At the same time, he crowned himself king of the 400cc Intermediate Class.

He also finished second in his division despite missing two races in the Subic series organized by the National Racing Association.

"It would have been better had I participated in the entire series because my placing would have been higher. But I know God has plans for me, maybe I can come back again and dominate next season," said Lazaro. He recently stamped his class in the 400cc Open Race of the Casino Filipino Grand Prix.

He placed fourth in the morning and afternoon races, respectively, but still went on to clinch the overall crown.

Jao and Lazaro also blasted their rivals in a recent 2-hour Endurance Race in Subic where their partnership produced a 1-2 finish for the Kawasaki team.
