Halili leads winners in FPI Classic at Riviera course

Dan Halili of San Miguel Corp. emerged the low gross champion in the recent Federation of Philippine Industries (FPI) Golf Classic which drew the country’s top executives from major manufacturing corporations at the Langer Course of Riviera Golf and Country Club in Silang, Cavite.

Philip Adamson of Phimco Industries ruled the Class A division while Tipco president George Chua and Ike Yusingco of SMC bagged the Class B and C crown under the System 36 format in the tournament sponsored by San Miguel Corp. and backed by Petron Corp. and Caltex Corp.

The four winners won Panasonic 20" color TV sets plus Ott Louie trophies.

The event, held to raise funds for FPI’s projects for the industry, was supported by hole sponsors Oriental and Motolite Corp., Tin Can Manufacturers Association, Concepcion-Carrier Airconditioning Corp., RI Chemicals, Smart Telecommunications, Trust International Paper Corp., Cricket, La Paz Cigar, Phil. Sugar Millers Association, Arms Corp., United Coconut Planters Bank, Coats Manila Bay, Macrolite Trading Corp., Kemeny Asia Corp., San Pablo Manufacturing Corp. and Phil. Cement Manufacturers Corp.

Fabulous prizes, such as Panasonic VCD/CD set and Panasonic 21" color TV set, were raffled off during the awards rites. The event was organized by Joost Pekelharing of Phimco, Roberto Garcia of Oriental and Motolite, Henry Tanedo of Tin Can Manufacturers Association, George Chua of Tipco, and Demetrio Tuason of Armscor.
