The community clubhouses of Sta. Lucia-developed subdivisions like Acropolis Manila, Vermont Park in Antipolo, The Orchard in Cavite and even those in Tarlac (Las Haciendas de Luisita) and Batangas (Lipa Royale) will serve as venues for a series of clinics covering basketball, swimming, tennis and badminton.
Four noted gurus who have guided top athletes to local and international glory are handling the various courses under the program which will be opened not just to village residents but to all those living within the area.
They are Nic Jorge, founder of the famed BEST clinics (basketball), Ral Rosario (swimming), Danny So (badminton) and Van Der Meer Academy graduate Nani Jimenez (tennis).
The program has drawn the support of Head-Penn, Talbot-Torro badminton equipment and Swans Swimming equipment through its local distributor Dyynamic Sports Corp. and Chris Sports Plaza as well as Pisanti.
Registration centers are all Chris Sports Plaza outlets, the Milo Best Center office (372-3065/66), Nani Jimenez Sports Tennis Professionals (922-0922-922-1842) and all host venues.
Vicente Santos, executive vice president of Sta. Lucia Realty, said the program is the start of what the organizing group foresees to be a gradual conversion into a intra and inter-village competition and ultimately something in the nationwide scale.
