Libardo, Manlutac propel PSBA past AMA

The Philippine School of Business Administration Jaguars leaned on late baskets by Vince Libardo and Erwin Manlutac in putting away AMA Computer University, 69-65, yesterday in the 10th National Capital Region Athletic Association men’s basketball tournament at the Loyola Center.

Penetrations by Manlutac and Libardo in the last 1:32 enabled the Jaguars to score their second straight win and share the Group A leadership with defending champion St. Francis of Assisi.

Libardo fired 19 points while Manlutac had 14 points in this three-monthlong tournament sponsored by AirFreight 2100, Villa de Oro-Boracay and www.universitybelt.com/ncraa.

Rafael Gonzales banged in 21 points for National College of Business and Arts, which tripped PATTS School of Aeronautics, 86-80, to share second spot in Group B with La Salle-Dasmariñas (1-1).

The Jaguars, coached by Monel Kallos, seek

to move ahead of the Doves in their 1 p.m. clash with Rizal Tech.

In women’s action, UAAP titlist La Salle got big points from Jessica Manalo, Tracy Galan and Jesssica’s twin Jessamine in blasting La Salle-Dasmariñas.

The elder Jessica shot 15 points while Galan and Manalo banged in 14 points for the lady Archers, who registered their second straight triumph.

Philippine Maritime Institute debuted with a 115-25 mauling of Emilio Aguinaldo College to improve at 1-1.
