Cunanan, Inocencio pace bowlfest

-
Veteran Laarni Cunanan and Caloy Inocencio simply played better than the rest to take the early lead in Classes A and B singles of the 28th National Open duckpin bowling championships Monday at The Marketplace center along Kalentong St., Mandaluyong City.

Cunanan rolled a two-game series of 372 pins to pace Maa Aregla (366), Tina Eisma (357), Geena Gregorio (356) and Indang Castillo (344) in the ladies’ division.

Inocencio posted 422 to move ahead of Boying Magday (390), Louie Tandingan (389), Val Almazan (373) and Jun Santos (370) in the men’s group.

Ironically, Inocencio landed only third in Class C singles with 375, behind Almazan (390) and Boy dela Cruz (381) but ahead of Winnie Sotto (373) and Jaime Vicente (371).

Mandaluyong Mayor Benhur Abalos graced the opening ceremony together with other officials and promised to support PHIDBC’s programs, especially the bowling clinics for the youth.
