Triathlon events up

The Triathlon Association of the Philippines has lined up three sprint events in preparation for the Asian Duathlon Championship Nov. 16-17.

The Enervon-Danao City Duathlon Challenge, set Sept. 21 in Danao City, Cebu, features 40 km (5 km run-30 km bike-5 km run) and a half-distance course. At stake in the competition, organized by Team RAMBO and supported by Enervon, Danao Telecom and the Danao City Sports Commission, are gift items from Enervon and total cash prizes worth P18,000. Entry fee is pegged at P150.

The San Pedro USA group will organize the first Governor’s Cup Duathlon, a 7 km run-30 km bike-5 km run course Oct. 6 in Santa Cruz, Laguna. The event, sponsored by Laguna Gov. Ningning Lazaro, the provincial government of Laguna, Royal Star and Sharp Philippines, will be directed by national coach Abet Alon-Alon.

The fifth and final leg of the program, which will be jointly organized by the TRAP and the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA), will be held Oct. 27 as a tune-up race in Subic Bay. Speedo and Enervon are the supporting sponsors.
