Cebu midnight 5K run fires off Dec. 15

-
The first-ever Cebu Midnight 5K Run fires off on Dec. 15 at the City Sports Club at the Cebu Business Park.

Race director Raffy Uytiepo and CSCC assistant manager Bingo Santos said the race, which is limited to just 150 runners on a first-come-first served basis, is being patterned after the New York City Midnight Run held on New Year’s Eve at Central Park NY.

The run which is expected to draw Cebu’s cream-of-the crop is co-sponsored by Pharmaton Capsules, Adidas, Rudy Project, Gatorade, Island Grill Express, Nature’s Spring and Cebu Holdings.

Already confirming their participation are Plantation Bay’s German chef Dietmar Platz, Japan’s Hiro Takei, and Max Telford of New Zealand who was once listed in the Book of Guinness as having ran over 8,000 kms. in 104 days.

Also joining the run are triathletes Abet Biagan, Cris Aldeguer, Nonoy Jopson, Amale Mendezona, boxing champions Rev. Santillan and Dindo Castañares and members of the Cebu Executive Runners Club headed by newly-appointed RTC judge Gabby Ingles and Ombudsman director Ed Canton.

Handcrafted Italian trophies, medals and Rudy Project eyewears await the winners with all participants receiving singlets while being treated to snacks and drinks.

Registration is now on going at the City Sports Club Cebu at the Cebu Business Park c/o Bingo Santos and at the PSC Region VII office at the Cebu City Sports Center c/o Audie Marte.
