S’woods gets top ranking

What do golf clubs like Royal Birkdale (England), Valderrama (Spain), Spring City (China), Blue Canyon (Thailand), Royal Melbourne (Australia) and Manila Southwoods (Philippines) have in common?

The prestigious clubs have just firmed up their positions as the No. 1 clubs in their respective countries by the Golf Digest, one of the world’s most widely read golf magazines.

The full list is included in the June issue of Golf Digest including its well-visited on-line edition golfdigest.com.

Golf Digest
has aptly called its ranking of the top courses in 100 nations where golf is played as Planet Golf II, getting the help of 25 affiliated magazines in various countries to update the roster.

Planet Golf II was also released with the intention of guiding Golf Digest readers for their prospective summer holidays.

Golf Digest
pinpointed 10 of the Philippines’ 70 courses with Manila Southwoods as No. 1.

Sta. Elena is ranked second, Mimosa third, The Orchard fourth, Wack Wack fifth, Mt. Malarayat is No. 6, Tagaytay Highlands occupies the seventh slot, Canlubang No. 8, Luisita ninth and Puerto Azul 10th.

The Golf Digest rating keeps Southwoods’ big streak of international acclaim this year.
