Cancio, Co top Southwoods golf invitational

Belina Cancio and her guest partner Rio Co bagged the overall title while Ferdie Agustin and Heidi Chua romped off with the low gross plum in the recent 2001 Manila Southwoods Invitational tournament.

Cancio and Co combined for a net 267 while Agustin and Chua turned in a 308 to upstage a full-packed roster of 144 teams that saw action in the 36-hole event at the Masters and Legends course of Southwoods.

Chua actually upstaged her male member partner with her rounds of 71-71 as she also powered her team to a six-stroke victory in Class A with their net 282.

The other winners were Bert Payumo and Manuel Syyap in Class B, Roger Adajar-Freddie dela Peña in Class C and Bernie Sevilla-Jimmy Zenarosa in Class D.
