Zambonga del Sur HS booters lead winners

PAGADIAN City Zamboanga del Sur National High School, Zamboanga del Sur NHS-Sta. Lucia Annex and Pagadian City Pilot School prevailed over their respective rivals in the 12-14 years-old division at the start of the first Philippine Retirement Authority Members Association Foundation, Inc.-United Nations Information Center (PRAMA-UNIC) Football for Peace at the Pagadian football field over the weekend.
The ZSNHS Warriors opened their campaign in the 14-under division with a 7-0 win over Zamboanga del Sur School of Arts and Trade while ZSNHS-Sta. Lucia Annex also came away with a one-sided 8-0 romp over Southern Mindanao Colleges High in the second game.
The Pagadian City Pilot School blanked Napulan National High, 2-0, in the other game.
Jose Alberto Fucoy II of the ZSNHS, who is the son of Pagadian City Vice-Mayor Flaviano Fucoy, Jr., made the first hattrick of the two-month long PRAMA-UNIC soccerfest by scoring three goals.
Meanwhile, Zamboanga del Sur Gov. Isidoro Real, Jr., guest of honor and keynote speaker, and Pagadian City Mayor Joaquin Pajares graced the opening ceremonies wherein Real exhorted the youth to get involved more in sports.
Others who graced the affair were Fucoy, Football for Peace consultant Mari Martinez, councilor Ma. Dina Marasigan and Pagadian City Football Association sec-gen Flaviano Fucoy III.
Routs also marked the 15-18 years category for boys with Columbian College HS whipping Southern Mindanao NHS, 9-1; ZNHS dominating ZSNHS-Sta. Lucia Annex, 9-0; and Zamboanga del Sur School of Arts and Trade beating Napulan high, 4-0.
In the 19-21 division, Columban College blasted Mindanao Colleges B, 6-0; AMA Computer Learning Center walloped Pagadian City College of Criminology and Sciences, 7-2; while Southern Mindanao Colleges beat Santos Football Club, 4-0.
In the distaff open group, Pagadian City College of Criminology Varsity A waylaid Western Mindanao State U, 5-0; Napulan NHS-B edged Manga NHS, 1-0; while Zamboanga DNHS and ZSNHS-Sta. Lucia Annex played to a scoreless draw.
