ERAP CUP up at Midlands

The second Erap Cup golf tournament reels off on April 15 at the Tagaytay Midlands Golf Club with over 60 participants from the business, political and diplomatic communities expected to see action.

The Erap Cup is held each year to raise funds for the Erap Foundation, an organization devoted to giving out scholarships to marginalized Filipino students. It also conducts medical missions and renders healthcare services.

"The Erap Cup is held annually to help give young Filipinos access to better education. This is part of President Estrada's commitment to uplift the welfare of the 'masa,' " said Vicente Rivera Jr., Transportation and Communication Secretary and head of the Erap Cup organizing committee.

Proceeds from this year's tournament will go to deserving Muslim youths through scholarships and livelihood assistance programs.

This year's tournament is presented by San Miguel Corp., with the Tagaytay Midlands Golf Club, the International Container Terminal Services Inc. and ABS-CBN News Channel 21 as co-presentors. The event is also supported by the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. and Wealth Securities.

Two BMWs and two Jaguars will be staked for hole-in-one feats.

A "sponsor's night" cocktail reception will be held on April 10 at 6 p.m. at the Sampaguita Penthouse of the Hyatt Regency Manila.
