Some of the country's top amateurs, who form the core of the Canlubang team bound for the highly-competitive PAL Interclub next month in Mindanao, will use the two-day 22nd Jose Yulo Memorial tournament this weekend as part of their buildup for the coming event in Cagayan de Oro.
Tommy Manotoc, who lost the DHL-NGAP men's amateur crown to Gerard Cantada last week at the north course of the Canlubang golf complex, leads the field which includes Rolly Viray, Juvic Pagunsan, Jun Bernis, Jun Cedo, Abe Rosal, Jose Mari Hechanova, Solomon Gines, Tony Olives and Cangolf's executive director and team captain Luigi Yulo.
Their presence ensures a high-powered cast in the annual event held in honor of former Speaker Jose B. Yulo.
A Mitsubishi car, courtesy of Mitsubishi Motors Phils., will be staked as hole-in-one prize in the event to be played under the PAL Stableford scoring system.
Other prizes include a Toshiba cinema series television as grand raffle prize and Toshiba theater view television, home entertainment package and a trip to Hong Kong for four.
