Robinsons Land’s Kerwin Tan named CFO of the Year

MANILA, Philippines — Kerwin Max Tan, chief financial, risk and compliance officer of Robinsons Land Corp. was named CFO of the Year at the 25th Global Edition of the Asia Business Leader of the Year Awards, held at Pan Pacific Singapore on Aug. 3.
Presented by CMO Asia, the CFO of the Year award recognizes finance leaders for their contributions to sustainable growth, governance, innovation and business value.
“I see this recognition as a reflection of the work of the entire team. Finance is most effective when it gives the business a clear view of its choices, helps manage risk, and ensures that resources are directed where they can have the greatest impact. That has been our focus at Robinsons Land as the company has continued to expand across its portfolio,” said Tan upon receiving the award.
At RLC, Tan has overseen the company’s finance, risk management, compliance and capital market initiatives since 2016.
During his tenure, RLC has undertaken several major funding and capital market transactions that have supported the company’s growth while preserving financial flexibility.
Among these was RLC’s P13.2-billion bond issuance in 2020, undertaken during the pandemic. In 2021, RLC completed the listing of RL Commercial REIT Inc. (RCR), whose initial public offering raised approximately P23.5 billion, making it the Philippines’ largest REIT IPO at the time.
Tan brings nearly three decades of experience in banking, treasury, operations, corporate finance, risk management and governance to his role at RLC.
He also holds finance and leadership positions across several RLC-affiliated entities, including RCR, Altus Property Ventures, Robinsons Double Dragon Corp. and Universal Hotels and Resorts.
He is a graduate of the University of the Philippines Diliman with a degree in Industrial Engineering.
RLC president and CEO Mybelle Aragon-GoBio linked Tan’s contribution to the company’s Vision 5-25-50 strategy, which targets P25 billion in net income by RLC’s 50th anniversary in 2030.
“We are proud to celebrate Kerwin and this well-earned achievement. His consistency and discipline have strengthened the way Robinsons Land manages its finances and approaches major investment decisions, giving the company a strong foundation for growth while keeping risk and governance firmly in view. The award
also reflects the work of the wider finance team and the many people across RLC who contribute to that discipline every day.”
