Negros Oriental Capitol workers share bonuses with Yolanda victims

Juancho R. Gallarde - The Freeman

DUMAGUETE CITY , Philippines  â€” Provincial government employees of Negros Oriental have decided to share their blessings this Christmas for victims of typhoon Yolanda in the other side of Negros, including those in Region 6.

Governor Ruel Degamo had earlier suggested to automatically deduct P1,000 from each regular employee of the provincial government as donation to Yolanda victims taken from their additional bonuses which were released Friday.

Provincial Administrator Arnel Francisco said the deductions from at least 1,500 employees were expected to generate P1.5 million in funds to be apportioned to recipient-local government units, as determined by the Capitol.

Each regular employee of the Capitol got P33,500 in productivity enhancement incentive, while each job order worker had P1,600 and each Yolanda victim with P1,000, the money of which shall be sourced from the LGU savings this year, according to Provincial Treasurer Danilo Mendez.  (FREEMAN)
