CATIGBIAN, BOHOL , Philippines – A three-year-old boy, identified as Fernando Rillon, did not make it alive at the hospital after a big trunk of an ipil-ipil tree fell on him at Barangay Mantacida of this town yesterday, according to hospital head Dr. Esterlita Tubal.
Bohol was not part of the path of typhoon Gener, but strong winds uprooted the tree and crashed towards the boy, while he and his mother were walking their way back home after buying goods from a nearby sari-sari store.
Mayor Bert Salinas told The Freeman that the municipal government had already extended financial assistance to the family of the boy who was slated to be buried tomorrow afternoon. - THE FREEMAN
