LIBACAO, AKLAN ,Philippines — A man died on the spot after he was ganged up by a father-and-son tandem at a farm in Sitio Balisong of Brgy. Pampango in this town.
Josie Sarza, 57, a resident of Brgy. Guadalupe, Libacao, suffered multiple hack wounds on the different parts of his body, but he was able to wound also his attackers, Eduardo Lanciso, 63, and son Edgar, with a scythe.
Libacao Police Station investigators said old grudges could have triggered the incident and that it was Sarza who first initiated it by provoking the younger Lanciso to a fight at a coconut plantation.
Sarza had the advantage over Edgar since he was on higher ground, and the latter was caught off guard while he was scaling the hilly portion of the farm.
During the initial stage of their fight, Edgar retreated only to call his father for help. The Lancisos immediately returned to where Sarza was and ganged up and killed him.
After the incident, residents brought the two wounded victims to Aklan Provincial Hospital where they are now confined.
