Negros Oriental PB member dies at 64

DUMAGUETE CITY, Philippines — Negros Oriental Provincial Board Member Rotelio Lumjod, Jr. succumbed to massive heart attack Monday evening at the Silliman University Medical Center in Dumaguete. He was 64.

Reports from the PB Secretariat said Lumjod, whose remains are now at the Eterna Funeral Parlor, will be taken to his house for a few days, and then to the Dumaguete City session hall.

Lumjod served as city councilor for a number of terms before he was elected PB Member during the May 10 elections.

The remains of Lumjod will be brought later to the Provincial Legislative Building. Dates for interment were still being arranged, as of presstime.

The PB Members, after adjournment of their weekly session, were set to proceed to the funeral parlor yesterday afternoon to pay their last respects to Lumjod, said PB Member Erwin Macias.

Last year, three PB members died: Apolinario Arnaiz, Sr., Mellimore Saycon and Rudy Martinez. Following their deaths, vacancies in their positions were already filled up since.— (FREEMAN)
