ILOILO CITY, Philippines – The two neophyte policemen, who got involved in the controversial posting of a naked photo on Facebook, have been dismissed from police service effective last week.
A PNP Board, after a summary hearing, terminated Roland Rivera, 25, and Christian Ray Gallofin, 24, from the service, but a third one, PO1 Jay Evangelio, 23, was exonerated.
Police Regional Office-6 director, Chief Supt. Cipriano Querol Jr., said the two could still file a motion for reconsideration. “I hope what happened to Rivera and Gallofin would serve as a lesson to other policemen,” he said.
Rivera was found guilty for uploading Gallofin’s naked picture on FB, but defended that he thought it was only he who could have access to it. Gallofin said he was unaware Rivera uploaded that photo, and admitted that his mistake was to allow himself photographed in such manner.
Evangelio was not held liable for the scandalous act because his mere liability was being at the Bacolod City Police for Field Training Program, where the photograph was taken. – (FREEMAN)
