MANILA, Philippines — Work in government offices will be suspended at noon tomorrow to allow state workers to travel to the provinces during Holy Week, Malacañang announced.

A flexible or work from home arrangement will also be adopted.

The announcement was made through Memorandum Circular No. 81 signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin yesterday.

Under the circular, government personnel will work from home from 8 a.m. to noon.

Work in government offices will then be suspended from noon onwards.

Agencies whose functions involved the delivery of basic and health services as well as disaster and calamity response will continue their operations.

“Suspension of work for private companies is left to the discretion of their employers,” the circular said.
