200 Marines dineploy sa Cotabato
MANILA, Philippines — Umaabot sa 200 personnel ng Philippine Marine Corps ang idineploy sa Cotabato City para mangalaga sa seguridad kaugnay ng gaganaping midterm elections sa Mayo ng taong ito.
Ayon kay Captain John Percie Alcos, Director ng Naval Public Affairs Office, ang nasabing tropa ng Philippine Marines ay magsisilbing karagdagang puwersa na makakatuwang ng PNP para sa pagpapatupad ng seguridad.
“A battalion of approximately 200 personnel from the Marine Battalion Landing Team 6 of the Philippine Marine Corps arrived in Cotabato last March 8”, deklarasyon ni Alcos sa press briefing nitong Martes.
Ang Philippine Marines ay nasa ilalim ng pangangasiwa ng Philippine Navy na nagsisilbing frontliner nito sa bakbakan.
“They will serve as additional forces to focus on security in the area for the upcoming elections on May 12, 2025, ensuring a safer environment for the locals and contributing to the peaceful conduct of the elections,” ayon pa sa opisyal.
