Bulk grain terminal binuksan na

SUBIC BAY, Freeport – Pormal nang binuksan ang pitong-ektaryang lawak na bulk-grain terminal sa layuning makatulong sa food security program ng pamahalaan na dito naging ganap na major transshipment hub ang Freeport para sa pag-aangkat ng mga agrikulturang produkto sa bansa.

Pinasinayaan nina Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Chairman Felicito Payumo at ni Agriculture Secretary Luis Lorenzo, ang inagurasyon sa 129.5 metric-tons grain storage silos bilang bahagi ng komprehensibong bulk grain handling facilities.

"This only shows that Subic is not just for manufacturing electronics products but it is also in total support of the agriculture industry of Central Luzon and of the entire country," saad ni Payumo.

Idinagdag pa ni Payumo na ang proyekto ay isa ring bahagi ng overall master plan ng Subic Port modernization project na kasalukuyang itinatayo at isa sa mga itinatag na proyekto ni Pangulong Arroyo.

Sinabi naman ni Eduardo Aliño, presidente ng Subic Bay Freeport Grain Terminal Services Ins. (SBFGTSI), kapag nakumpleto na ang konstruksyon ng naturang pasilidad ay dito ilalagay ang dalawang makabagong "high-speed" bulk grain unloaders, dalawang-kilometrong conveyor system, labin-dalawang silos at 24,000 metro-kwadradong warehouse na itatayo sa may Leyte-wharf na matatagpuan sa Cubi point area.
