MANILA, Philippines — Muling namataan ang China Coast Guard (CCG) 5901 o “The Monster,” sa Ayungin Shoal sa West Philippines Sea (WPS) nitong Miyerkules.

Sa isang post sa X, sinabi ng dating opisyal ng US Air Force at da­ting Defense Attaché Ray Po­well na ang CCG 5901 ay nakita kasama ang CCG 5203 sa Ayungin Shoal alas-7:26 ng umaga.

“The 165-meter China Coast Guard 5901 (‘The Monster’) has returned for another intrusive patrol in the Philippines’ exclusive economic zone and has just joined the 102-meter CCG 5203 at 2nd Thomas (Ayungin) Shoal,” ani Powell.

Huling namataan ang CCG 5901 sa Ayungin Shoal noong Hunyo 24. Nagsimula ang paglalakbay nito sa WPS kasunod ng marahas na insidente noong Hunyo 17 sa shoal na kinasasangkutan ng mga tauhan ng Tsino at Pilipino, na nagresulta sa pagkawala ng hinlalaki ng isang Filipino navy officer.

Batay sa monitoring ng mga otoridad ng Pilipinas, dumaan ang Chinese vessel sa 12 feature ng WPS sa loob ng 10 araw: Isla ng Parola, Pagasa Island, Zamora Reef, Bayani Bank, Bangko ng Unyon, Kagitingan Reef,Rizal Reef, Panganiban Reef, Lawak Island,Isla ng Patag, Escoda Shoal, at Bajo De Masinloc.

Bukod dito ay nagtu­ngo rin ang dambuhalang barko sa tubig ng El Nido, Palawan, na malapit sa 34 nautical miles mula sa baybayin nito.

Huling namonitor ang Chinese vessel sa layong 46 nautical miles sa timog-silangan ng Sanya, Hainan sa China noong Hunyo 27.
