Duterte sa drug lords: I will forever remain your enemy

MANILA, Philippines — “Galit talaga ako. ‘Pag ginawa mo ‘yan sa bayan ko, para na ring tinatapos mo ang buhay namin. So gusto kong dapat malaman ‘yan ng mga durugista, I will forever remain your enemy. Iyan ang tandaan ninyo”.

Ito ang naging babala ni Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte sa  mga drug smugglers na patuloy niyang ituturing na kaaway ang mga ito na kanyang inihayag sa Talk to the People, kamakalawa ng gabi.

Ito’y matapos na iulat ni Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo Año na ang “shabu” (crystal meth) at marijuana na nagkakahalaga ng P295.9 milyong piso ay nakumpiska ng mga law enforcers mula Mayo 11 hanggang 22.

Inulit naman ni Pangulong Duterte ang kanyang pangako na ipagpapatuloy niya ang kanyang anti-narco­tics campaign kahit pa siya ay isa ng sibilyan.

“We can continue this fight even if I am already a civilian. Mahirap itong shabu na ‘to, sabi ko sisirain ang bayan nito. They will make the Philippine society dysfunctional,” dagdag na pahayag nito.

Sinabi pa niya na mas gugustuhin niyang makita ang mga drug lords at drug peddlers na patay kaysa buhay.

Pinalagan naman nito ang kritisismo at banat sa kanya ng human rights groups bilang “posturing.”

“Itong  human rights, they are — all they have to do — all that they can do really is posturing, hanggang diyan lang ‘yan sila. They cannot help the country,” ayon sa Punong Ehekutibo.

Aniya pa, dapat lamang na walang awa na patayin ng mga law enforcement agents ang mga drug dealers lalo na kung malalagay sa panganib ang kanilang buhay.
