P150 milyong PPEs at smuggled products nakumpiska ng BOC

MANILA, Philippines — Nasa P150 milyong halaga ng mga hindi rehistradong personal protective equipment (PPE), mga pekeng luxury clothing, beauty products, at mga laruan, ang nakumpiska ng mga tauhan ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) sa isang operasyon na bahagi ng pinaigting na kampan­ya laban sa smuggling at counterfeiting.

Mismong si Alvin Enciso, hepe ng Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service-Manila International Container Port (CIIS-MICP), ang nanguna sa operasyong isinagawa sa isang storage facility sa Binondo, Manila nitong Miyerkules.

Ayon kay Enciso, ang mga naturang goods ay tinatayang nagkakahalaga ng P150 milyon, base na rin sa inisyal na imbentaryo na isinagawa rito sa pangu­nguna ng Customs exami­ner at sinaksihan ng CIIS, Enforcement and Security Service (ESS), at ng Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).

“In our initial inspection, we found boxes of cosmetic and beauty pro­ducts, unregistered Ai­delai face masks, Heng De face shields, clothing, toys, cellphone cases, and many others,” ani Enciso.
