Paghahanda sa 2023 WC hosting sinimulan na ng SBP
MANILA, Philippines — Pormal nang sinimulan ng Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) ang mahabang preparasyon para sa 2023 FIBA World Cup hosting matapos ang Strategic Planning Session ng Local Organizing Committee (LOC).
Sa pangunguna nina SBP president Al Panlilio at chairman emeritus Manny V. Pangilinan ay pinulong ng pederasyon ang lahat ng mga opisyales upang itoka sa mga eksperto ang mga trabaho sa 2023 World Cup.
“Having this session helped us in creating concrete plans and contingencies for our hosting of the World Cup. It also showed how committed we are in not only giving a good show to the world but also being gracious hosts to our visitors,” ani Panlilio sa pulong na ginanap sa Mount Malarayat Golf and Country Club sa Lipa City.
“The FIBA World Cup is not just any other event as this is the biggest tournament in World Basketball. We will be exhausting all our efforts and resources to prove to the world that the Philippines can organize and host the world’s biggest sporting events,” ani Pangilinan.
Sa koordinasyon sa FIBA headquarters sa Geneva, Switzerland ay idaraos ng SBP ang FIBA World Congress na dadaluhan ng mga basketball officials sa buong mundo bago ang mismong World Cup.
Inilatag na rin ni author at chief implementer Ramon Suzara ang FIBA World Cup 2023 Master Plan pati na ang vision, mission at World Cup objectives sa pangunguna ni Deputy Event Director Erika Dy.
Dumalo rin sa pulong sina executive director Sonny Barrios, vice president Ricky Vargas at special assistant to the president Ryan Gregorio.
