Mukhang wala nang makapipigil pa sa pagpirma ni Eumir Marcial na maging pro fighter habang patuloy na maghahanda sa pag-akyat sa ring sa Tokyo Olympics.
Ang tanong na lamang ay kung kanino siya pi-pirma. Sa pag-atras ni Shelly Finkel sa tug-of-war, malamang na sa kampo ng MP Promotions mauwi si Marcial.
Sa isang FB thread ukol sa magiging status ni Marcial sakaling mag-pro na nga siya, sumali sa usapan sina PSC commissioner Ramon Fernandez at PSC executive director Atty. Guillermo Iroy na nagdiin ng patuloy na suporta sa Olympic preparation ng boxer.
Mayroon kasing agam-agam na baka mawala ang kanyang PSC allowance kung umakyat na siya bilang pro fighter.
“The PSC board is clear, all Olympic-bound athletes will be supported. That includes their allowances going to the Olympic Games,” ani Iroy.
“Going to the Olympics, Eumir is already part of the program of the PSC. The PSC was there during the qualification, much more during the preparation into the Olympic Games. We should give full support to him to get the elusive gold medal. That’s the mission of Team Philippines,” dagdag pa ni Iroy.
Ipinaramdam naman ni Fernandez ang suporta niya sa hangarin ni Marcial na mag-pro.
“An athlete will not get that opportunity everyday. Hit two birds with one punch, play for flag and country, and earn for his sacrifices and hardwork all these years,” ani Fernandez.
