B.E.S.T tankers kumuha ng 18 medalya
Pinangunahan ni B.E.S.T tanker Enkhmend Enkmend ang mga gold medalists sa katatapos na 2020 Tokyo Swimming Winter Championships.

MANILA, Philippines — Kabuuang 18 me­dal­ya, kasama ang walong ginto, ang nalangoy ng Phil­ippine B.E.S.T (Behrouz Elite Swim Team) junior squad sa katatapos na 2020 Tokyo Swimming Winter Champion­ships sa St. Mary’s In­ter­national School sa Se­­tagaya, Tokyo, Japan.

Pinamunuan ni Cambodia-based Enkhmend Enkmend ang pananalasa ng koponan sa hinablot na tatlong gold medals.

Nanguna ang 10-an­yos na si Enk­mend sa boy’s 9-10 class 100-meter breaststroke sa bilis na isang minuto at 33.75 segundo.

Naghari rin ang Grade 6 student ng Pan­yathip International School sa Cambodia sa 200m Indi­vidual Medley at 50m breaststroke events.

Hinirang si Enkmend bilang Most Outstanding Swimmer sa boys 9-10 category.

“It’s a huge effort on the part of our young swim­mers with the strict gui­dance of head coach Ros­s­be­­nor Antay and Johnson Maulion as well as de­legation head Marilet Ba­sa,” sabi ni team ma­­­nager Joan Mojdeh. “We are so very proud. Iyon talaga ang target namin na makakuha sila ng ex­pe­rience.”

Kasama ang Philippine B.E.S.T Team sa Phi­lippine Swimming Inc. (PSI) at suportado ng Behrouz Persian Cuisine sa pakikipagtulungan ng Filipino-Japanese Community na pinamumunuan nina Myles Briones-Beltran at Mama Aki Ma­rilyn Mabansag Yokokoj ng Ihawan Shinjuku.

Nagdagdag naman ng dalawang gintong me­dalya si Brendan Viñas, habang may tig-isa sina JahZeel Rosario, Dawn Martina Camacho at Ash­ley Anne Alvarez sa torneo na nilahukan ng 15 club at school teams.

Namayani si Viñas sa boy’s 11-12 class 50m at 100m butterfly, habang na­mahala si Rosario, ang Grade 8 student sa Bristol Integrated School, sa 100m breaststroke.

Humirit din ng ginto si Camacho sa girl’s 11-12 100m butterfly at si Alva­rez sa girl’s 12-13 class 200m butter­fly.
