Batangas, San Juan pumuwersa ng Game 3 sa kanilang Division Finals

MANILA, Philippines — Nagposte ng magkahiwalay na panalo ang inaugural staging champion Batangas City at San Juan para maitulak ang ‘winner-take-all’ showdown sa kani-ka­nilang mga karibal sa Division Finals ng MP­BL Datu Cup.

Napuwersa ang Athletics na maglaro sa kanilang adopted venue sa La Salle Sentrum sa Lipa City dahil hindi ma­­aaring paglaruan ang home court nila sa Ba­tangas City.

Tinalo ng Batangas Ci­ty ang Davao Occi­den­tal, 76-74, sa Game Two para makapu­wersa ng Game Three sa Da­vao City sa kanilang Southern Division best-of-three championship series.

Muling bumida sina Jeff Viernes at Jhaymo Eguilos para ibangon ang Athletics matapos yu­mukod sa Tigers sa Game One.

Tumapos si Viernes na may 20 points mula sa 10-of-11 fieldgoal sho­­oting, habang humakot ang 6-foot-5 na si Eguilos ng 12 markers at 17 rebounds.

Nagdagdag sina ex-pros Denice Villamor at Val Acuña ng tig-15 points para sa Batangas Ci­ty.

Samantala, niresba­kan ng San Juan Knights ang Manila Stars, 92-90, sa Game Two ng ka­nilang Northern Division Finals.

Tumipa si John Wil­son ng 18 points at nag­dagdag si Jhonard Cla­rito ng 16 markers at 7 rebounds para sa panalo ng Knights.
