MANILA, Philippines – Si Lehlo Ledwaba ang kinuhanan ni Manny Pacquiao ng kauna-unahan niyang world boxing title sa pamamagitan ng sixth-round TKO victory noong 2001 sa Las Vegas, Nevada.

Sa isang panayam ng BoxingScene.com kahapon ay sinabi ni Ledwaba na nalulungkot siya sa nangyayari sa pagitan nina Pacquiao at Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach.

“I think it is too late now for Manny and Roach to split because they have been together for a long time,” wika ng 46-anyos ngayong South African fighter na nagretiro noong Nobyembre 24, 2006 matapos matalo kay Maxwell Awuku.

Kamakalawa ay nilinaw ni Pacquiao sa kanyang Instagram post na wala pa siyang pormal na pahayag kung tuluyan nang makikipaghiwalay kay Roach, tumulong sa kanya para maging ta-nging boksingerong nagkampeon sa walong magkakaibang weight divisions.

Sa paggiya ni Roach ay inagaw ni Pacquiao kay Ledwaba ang suot nitong IBF super bantamweight crown 17 taon na ang nakakalipas.

“Their relationship was legendary and it conforms with loyalty which is often lacking in boxing. I wish they could sort out whatever they are disagreeing with and take the relationship to the finishing line,” wika ni Ledwaba. “That would be good for boxing.”

Sinabi kamakailan ni Michael Koncz, ang Canadian business manager ni Pacquiao, binitawan na ng Filipino boxing icon si Roach at ipinalit si Buboy Fernandez bilang chief trainer sa paghahamon kay Argentinian world welterweight king Lucas Matthysse sa Hulyo 15 (Manila time) sa Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Umaasa si Ledwaba, isa nang promoter na patuloy na magsasama ang 39-anyos na si Pacquiao at ang 58-anyos na si Roach bilang boxer at trainer.
