Solidong sports program pangako ni Bambol
MANILA, Philippines — Asahan ang mas solidong programa para sa Philippine sports sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) president Abraham Bambol Tolentino.
Ito ang ipinangako ni Tolentino gamit ang Olympic motto na “Faster, Higher, Stronger-Together” kung saan nagpasalamat ito sa mga kapwa sports leaders sa pagpapatatag ng programa para sa sports sa bansa.
“Let us continue to strive for greater heights in the spirit of teamwork and perfection,” ani Tolentino kasama ang may tatlong dosenang national sports association leaders sa isang selebrasyon sa Hotel Okura Manila sa Pasay City.
Nagpasalamat ito sa lahat ng POC members na patuloy na sumusuporta sa kanyang mga adhikain sa sports.
“I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all members of the Philippine Olympic Committee. Your dedication, hard work and unity have been instrumental in shaping the success of Philippine sports this year,” ani Tolentino.
Maraming pinagdaanan ang POC sa nakalipas na mga taon subalit mas lumutang ang tagumpay nito partikular na sa matagumpay na kampanya sa 2020 Tokyo Olympics at sa 2024 Paris Olympics.
Sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni Tolentino, nasungkit ni Hidilyn Diaz ang unang gintong medalya ng Pilipinas noong 2020 Tokyo Games na sinundan ng dalawang gintong medalya ni Carlos Yulo sa 2024 Paris Games.
“Thank you for your unwavering passion and service,” dagdag ni Tolentino.
Nakasama ni Tolentino sa selebrasyon sina newly-elected POC auditor Donaldo Caringal (volleyball) at Executive Board members Leonora Escollante (canoe-kayak-dragon boat), Leah Gonzalez (fencing), Alvin Aguilar (wrestling), Ferdinand Agustin (jiu-jitsu) at Alexander Sulit (judo), at si secretary-general Atty. Wharton Chan (kickboxing).
