Quezon City District 1 Warriors mainit ang simula sa CLS League U-23

MANILA, Philippines — Tinalo ng District Warriors Philippines ng Quezon City First District ang Shoot it Dragons ng Thailand, 110-65, sa pagbubukas ng 2024 Cahaya Lestari Surabaya (CLS) League Under-23 Senior Division sa Surabaya, Indonesia.

Suportado ni Quezon City First District Congressman Juan Carlos “Arjo” Atayde, humugot ang Warriors ng 20 points kay Ryan Arceo habang may tig-19 markers sina Danren Nepomuceno at Christian Jake Agoncillo.

Nag-ambag si Christian Ang ng 14 points para sa 1-0 win-loss record ng tropa ni Atayde.

“This team is composed of Quezon City first district’s top talented players, who were selected in the series of tryouts and the ongoing D1 Basketball League,” ani Atayde. “I believe they play with a lot of pride, and I have faith that they can bring home the championship.”

Si Atayde ay isang sports aficionado at miyembro ng Youth and Sports Development Committee sa House of Representatives.

Makakatapat din ng koponan nina coaches Dale Lacorte at Vis Valencia ang mga top club teams mula sa Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia at  Australia sa isang single-round robin format.

Sunod na haharapin ng District Warriors Philippines ang NS Matrix Malaysia kasunod ang BBM CLS Knights, MBC Malaysia at ACBA Tigers Sydney.
