Road cycling national championships papadyak sa Pebrero sa Tagaytay
MANILA, Philippines — Inihayag kahapon ng PhilCycling ang pagdaraos ng National Championships for Road 2024 sa Pebrero 5 hanggang 9 sa Tagaytay City bilang main hub.
“The early schedule is to provide our national coaches more window to prepare for the 2025 Southeast Asian Games and the 2026 Asian Games, which, for the first time, will be setting up qualifying events not only for cycling but all sports,” ani PhilCycling at Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) president Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino.
Hangad ng PhilCycling na palakasin ang men’s at women’s national track teams kasama ang pagtatayo ng isang indoor 250-meter velodrome sa Tagaytay City.
Ang mga resulta ng cycling event sa Philippine National Games (PNG) at Batang Pinoy sa susunod na buwan sa Tagaytay City ay bahagi ng criteria para sa qualification sa National Championships.
Nakalatag sa National Championships ang mga events na Criterium, Individual Time Trial at Individual Road Race for Men and Women in Youth (under 16), Juniors (17-18), Under 23 at Elite categories.
Ang top 10 finishers sa bawat event sa 2023 Nationals ay swak agad sa 2024 Road championships pati ang top 25 sa PNG-Batang Pinoy races.
Mabibigyan naman ng ranking points ang top 25 riders sa mga sanctioned races sa 2023 at ikukunsidera sa National Championships na mayroong maximum 90 riders sa Individual Road Race at tig-60 cyclists sa ITT at Criterium para sa lahat ng categories.
