MANILA, Philippines — Kung muling masusunod ng 12 koponan ang health at safety protocols para sa binabalak na ‘closed-circuit concept’ ng Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) ay walang magiging problema.

Ayon kay three-time PBA Coach of the Year Ryan Gregorio, ang pagkakaroon ng bakuna para sa coronavirus disease (COVID-19) ang magiging susi sa tagumpay nito.

“Kapag may vaccine na iyan medyo maski papaano mas madali nang kumilos but we still don’t know the side effects. So that is still up in the air,” ani Gregorio.

Naging matagumpay ang idinaos na 2020 Philippine Cup ng PBA sa loob ng ‘bubble’ sa Clark, Pampanga kung saan walang nagpositibo sa hanay ng mga players, coaches at team staff.

“The PBA of course, meron na silang operating template, working template, a little tweaks here and there. I’m sure the PBA Commissioner (Willie Marcial) together with the members of the (PBA) Board will sit down and talk kung anuman ang puwedeng gawin moving forward,” ani Gregorio.

Sa naturang ‘closed-circuit concept’ ay ang tanging ruta ng mga PBA players ay sa kanilang bahay at gym.

Gumastos ang PBA ng halos P65 milyon para sa pagdaraos ng Clark ‘bubble’ kung saan inobserbahan ng 12 koponan ang inilatag na protocols ng Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF).

Suportado rin ni Games and Amusements Board (GAB) chief Abraham ‘Baham’ Mitra ang nasabing plano ng PBA. We believe in the capability of the league and whoever is organi­zing the outside the bubble tournament,” sabi ni Mitra sa liga.
