Hamilton aquatics swimming meet
MANILA, Philippines - Humakot ang Philippine Swimming League (PSL) ng 10 ginto, apat na pilak at tatlong tanso sa 2017 Hamilton Aquatics Swimming Championship na ginaganap sa Hamad Sports Complex sa Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Naguna sa ratsada ng Pinoy tankers sina Joana Amor Cervas at Julia Ysabelle Basa na parehong sumisid ng apat na gintong medalya sa kani-kanilang dibisyon.
“Philippine Swimming League brought in Dubai 10 newcomers in international competition to develop them here in the swimming competition hosted by Hamilton Aquatics. We want our new swimmers to be competitive yet enjoy the beauty of Dubai,” wika ni PSL President Susan Papa.
Namayagpag si Cervas sa girls’ 11-year 50m butterfly, 50m freestyle, 50m backstroke at 50m breaststroke habang nangibabaw si Basa sa girls’ 10-year 50m butterfly, 50m freestyle, 50m backstroke at 50m breaststroke.
“We have this program to develop the young swimmers skill and motivate them. Cervas is from Aklan Swim Team while Basa is from Avila Swim Team. Both swimmers with a record time was awarded in recognition for the hard work and outstanding performance required to break a Hamilton Aquatics Swimming Academy speed limit,” dagdag ni Papa.
Nakasiguro rin ng gintong medalya si Marille Charlize Montenegro ng Cabanatuan City sa girls’ 50m freestyle ng torneong nilahukan ng mahigit 500 tankers.
Ang iba pang nakasikwat ng medalya ay sina Jodi Mikhaila Tan, Kate Zaira Roberto, Noel Jasen Nunez, Gian Paulo Gomez at Francino Archer Corpuz.
Ang PSL ay kinikilala ng Philippine Sports Commission bilang opisyal na national sports association na nagpapatupad ng grassroots development program sa bansa. May basbas rin ito ng Federation of School Sports Association of the Philippines na konektado sa International University Sports Federation (FISU).
