MANILA, Philippines – Makikipagsabayan ang matitikas na Pinoy gymnasts sa 1st Gymnastics International Competition na gaganapin sa Oktubre 15 hanggang 16 sa Muntinlupa Sports Complex sa Muntinlupa City.
Ang torneo ay itataguyod ng Philippine Gymnastics and Athletics Academy kung saan mahigit 600 gymnasts ang lalahok mula sa Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, India, Sri Lanka at host country.
“PGAA has been encouraging Filipino children to jump, soar and dream through gymnastics. At first, our gymnastics program was developed only as a grassroots program for underprivileged children, public school students and out of school youth with the inclination and potential of becoming a gymnast,” wika ni PGAA President at head coach Normita Ty.
Iminomolde ng PGAA-STY ang mahigit 150 gymnasts na isasabak upang mahasa ang mga ito para sa mga susunod na international competitions na lalahukan ng koponan.
Nais din ng grupo na hubugin ang talento ng mga gymnasts bilang paghahanda sa mga susunod na edisyon ng Olympics.
Nauna nang sumalang ang koponan sa Philippines Cup, ISM Goodwill Meet, Prime Gymnastics International Invitational sa Singapore, The Bangkok Moose Games sa Thailand, Hong Kong International Tournament, Synergy sa Malaysia, Gavrila sa Indonesia at NIST sa Indonesia.
