Liderato inagaw ni Suede sa Indian WIM sa Asian Jrs

TAGAYTAY CITY, Philippines --Gi­nu­lantang ni Mikee Charlene Suede si Indian Wo­man International Master Furtado Ivana Maria para angkinin ang liderato sa women’s division ng 2014 Asian Juniors and Girls Championships sa Tagaytay International Convention Center kahapon.

Pinuwersa ng 20-anyos na si Suede si Ivana Maria na sumuko matapos ang 62 moves ng isang Center Counter Defense para sa kanyang 5.5 points at una­han ang 2012  Asian Juniors titlist na may 5.0 points.

Ito ang pang-limang su­nod na panalo ni Suede, isang Physical Education senior sa University of the Philippines, matapos ang una niyang kabiguan kay Jerlyn Mae San Diego at makipag-draw kay Indian Joshi Supriya.

Samantala, nakipag-draw si Far Eastern University high school junior Merill Jacutina kay defen­ding champion International Master Srinath Narayana­n ng India matapos ang 51 moves ng isang Sicilian Opening.

Sa kabila nito ay lamang pa rin si Narayanan kay Fide Master Paulo Bersamina, sumuong sa marathon 113-move draw kay Mongolian FM Sumiya Bilguun.

Ang 16-anyos na si Bersamina, ang Tromso Chess Olympian at World Juniors campaigner, ay may 5.0 points sa torneong itinataguyod ni Cavite Rep. Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino, ang world Chess Federation (Fide) secretary general, katuwang si Philippine Sports Commission chairman Richie Garcia.
