Digos boxers nagparamdam agad

DIGOS City , Philippines  --Ang pagdalo ni boxing superstar at Saranggani Province congressman Manny Pacquiao ang naging inspirasyon ng mga bagitong boksingerong lumahok sa PLDT-ABAP National Amateur Boxing Championships dito sa Digos City Stadium sa Davao del Norte.

Nagtala ng panalo ang dalawang pambato ng Pacman-Digos City team na sina school boys paperweight (44kgs) Dhan Ariel Adolfo at youth boys light flyweight (49kgs) John Paul Bentoso.

Umiskor si Adolfo ng split decision laban kay Rovemil Son Dakila ng General Santos City, samantalang tinalo ni Bentoso si Cresan Paul Dicamos ng Bago City via unanimous decision.

Nagpasalamat si Pacquiao, kasama sina Mayor Jojo Peñas at Davao del Sur Governor Claude Bautista, sa mga taga-Digos kung saan siya nagsimula noong 1992.

Nagsagawa ang apat na national pool members na sina Kazakhstan-bound at Asian Games gold me­dallist Rey Saludar ng Polomolok, South Cotabato, si China-bound Ian Clark Bautista ng Binalbagan, Negros Occidental, si Charlie Suarez ng Davao del Norte at si Junrel Cantancio ng Bago City ng three rounds ng exhibition matches.

Ngunit sinabi ni ABAP executive director Ed Picson na ang exhibition matches ay bahagi ng kanilang selection process para sa Philippine boxing delegation na ipapadala sa Asian Games sa Incheon, Korea sa Setyembre.
