Krusyal na game 3: Bolts, Mixers mag-uunahang lumapit sa finals

MANILA, Philippines - Hangad ng Bolts ang kanilang ikalawang sunod na panalo at ang paglapit sa kanilang kauna-unahang finals appearance.

Lalabanan ng Meralco ang San Mig Coffee nga­yong alas-7:15 ng gabi sa mahalagang Game Three ng kanilang best-of-five semifinals series para sa 2013 PBA Governor’s Cup sa Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Tinalo ng Bolts ang Mi­xers sa Game Two, 73-69, noong Martes para itabla sa 1-1 ang kanilang semifinals duel matapos yumukod sa Game One, 73-83, noong Linggo.

Ayon kay Meralco head coach Ryan Gregorio, hindi lamang sina two-time PBA Most Valuable Player James Yap, Marc Pingris at PJ Simon ang kanilang dapat depensahan sa San Mig Coffee ni mentor Tim Cone.

“I thought it was my mistake in Game One,” wika ni Gregorio. “We gave so much attention to James (Yap), PJ (Simon) and (Marc) Pingris but I told them to give respect to all players of our opponents.”

Sa Game Two ay hindi pinaiskor ng Bolts si Joe Devance, humugot ng 10 sa kanyang 17 points sa final canto sa tagumpay ng Mixers sa Game One.

“I think there’s no shift in philosophy of both teams. Both teams like to play defense,” dagdag ni Gregorio.

Ibabanderang muli ng Meralco sina import Mario West, Reynel Hugnatan, Mike Cortez, Cliff Hodge, Chris Ross at John Wilson katapat sina Yap, Devance, Simon, Pingris at reinforcement Marqus Blakely ng San Mig Coffee.

Sa Game Two ay tuma­pos si Blakely na may 24 points at 15 rebounds,  ngunit may malamyang 12-of-26 shooting sa free throw line.

Asam ng Mixers na ma­kalapit sa kanilang ikalawang sunod na finals stint sa season-ending conference matapos matalo sa nagkampeong Rain or Shine Elasto Painters noong nakaraang taon.
