7th BIMP-EAGA Friendship Games hahataw na

General Santos City, Philippines--Nakatakdang simulan ngayong araw ang 7th BIMP-EAGA Friendship Games kung saan hangad ng Mindanao na makopo ang overall championship.

Asam ng Mindanao ang karamihan sa mga gold me­­dals na nakahanay sa athletics, badminton, lawn tennis, table tennis, sepak takraw, swimming at pencak silat kontra sa anim pang delegasyon mula sa East Asean Growth Area.

Ang Sabah, Malaysia ang nagkampeon sa BIMP-EAGA noong 2008 sa Brunei.

Ang iba pang kalahok ay ang mga Malaysian contingents ng Labuan at Sarawak bukod pa sa Brunei, South Sulawesi, Indonesia at Puerto Princesa City.

Pinangunahan ni Philippine Sports Commission chairman Richie Garcia ang opening ceremony ng four-day multi-sport event na dinaluhan ng 400 atleta sa Min­danao State University.

Nakasama ni Garcia sina Mayor Darlene Antonino-Custodio, South Cotabato Governor Arthur Pingoy Jr., Sarangani Governor Rene Miguel Dominguez at Min­danao authority chairman Lualhati Antonino.
