PNP iimbestigahan ang ilang tauhan sa ‘pagdukot’ sa INC minister

MANILA, Philippines — Tiniyak ni Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ricardo Marquez ngayong Lunes na walang kikiligan ang gagawing imbestigasyon sa kanilang mga tauhan na sangkot sa umano’y pagdukot kay Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) minister Lowell Menorca II.

"Hindi naman pinaguusapan 'yung race, creed or religion dito sa trabaho ng Philippine National Police. If somebody violates the law, then the PNP reacts accordingly, enforce the law, maintain peace and order, that's our mandate," pahayag ni Marquez.

Sa isang video ay kinumpirma ni Menorca na dinukot sila at itinago sa loob ng INC compound sa Quezon City.

Aniya, ilang pulis ng Quezon City ang dumukot sa kaniya at sa kaniyang pamilya kung saan pinagbantaan din umano ang kanilang buhay noong Hulyo 17 sa Bulan, Sorsogon.

"I will ask the director of CIDG to watch the video so that we'll find out if indeed our officers are involved one way or the other in the alleged abduction," sabi ni Marquez.

Pananagutin sa batas ni Marquez ang mga sangkot sa pagdukot kina Menorca oras na mapatunayan ito.

"From the very beginning, 'yan ang mga sinabi natin, we reward the performers but we should be very, very hard on those who violate the law and betray their oath and don't commit to the call of service."
